Starting a blog was the best thing I decided to do. I started a blog a few months and like you, I had many questions. I was interested in making a living writing about my passions but I didn’t know where to start. I did so much research and then I finally just went for it and purchased a hosting provider. I’ve enjoyed blogging and I have so many projects I want to share with all my readers. I recommend blogging to anyone who loves to write and wants to make a business out of it. So I’m sharing 5 simple blogging tips that have helped me out.
Get hosting and domain name
First thing is first, if you want to make money from your blog you need to start with a hosting provider and get your own domain name. Hosting, how I see it, is basically like the land your house is on so it’s a server space on the internet your website is on. Many companies will take you more serious. Yes, you can start a blog on a free website provider such as WordPress and Blogger but I don’t recommend it if you want to monetize your blog. Having a blog on a free website provider won’t allow you to create ads or affiliate links. The one I use is Bluehost.
I haven’t had any problems with them and their customer service is great, they always answer any questions I have. I definitely recommend this to all the new bloggers and they have pretty good deals.
Write Content Before
As soon as you go live you don’t want to have a great website and only have a couple posts, most likely you’re disappointing your readers already. I say having 25-35 post to upload to your blog before going live is a great idea. Not only because your readers will have content to read from but Google Ads will approve you easier if you have great content up. It’ll also make your life easier, I promise.
Blogging is easy and fun especially after you’ve got your blog running but before that you NEED to invest a lot of your time in blogging. At first you want to spend most of your time writing so you can then begin to bring traffic to your blog. Also that means spending more time on social media and being active. As for money, I’ve bought a hosting and domain name with Bluehost, a laptop, books and courses to help me learn more about blogging. No matter if you’re new or if you’re an expert at blogging, it’s always great to keep learning.
Sign Up With Google Ads And Linqia
Google Ads is great for new bloggers because they don’t require a large amount of viewers unlike the other programs. They’re also easy to work with and they always and have great customer service. Linqia is another great website for new bloggers interested in sponsored posts. Sponsoring a brand requires you to write or create videos/posts about their products or services and you get paid for it. All you have to do is sign up and once you get approved, you just wait for offers.
Don’t Give Up
No matter how frustrating and stressful it can get sometimes, don’t give up. Like any other business, success won’t happen overnight. But if you’re doing your best and investing most of your time on your blog, you will reach your goal in no time! If you ever feel like giving up just step away from your work space, take a deep breathe and do something that makes you happy. Come back to work with a fresh and positive attitude.
I wish the very best to all the new bloggers. Don’t hesitate to ask me questions. i would love to check out everyone’s blog as well. 🙂
